A SECOND LOOK

A question to carry into the reading

Use a numerical claim about BPC-157 to practice a unit check. Write each number on its own line with its unit, starting value, and stated direction of change. If a chart shows a change while a sentence describes an ending value, reconstruct their connection only when the required starting value is supplied. Treat a percentage change and a change in percentage points as separate entries until their definitions are clear. Then read the proposed conclusion aloud with the units included. Any step that requires an unstated conversion should remain visible as a calculation you cannot yet complete.

Questions to keep beside the page

  1. Which unit and starting value belong to each number in the claim?
  2. Is the reported quantity an ending value or a change from something?
  3. Which missing input prevents me from checking the proposed numerical comparison?
